Research

The Aalto Science Institute internship programme offers foreign undergraduate students employment opportunities to participate first-hand in topical research, to interact with the premier research groups at Aalto University, and to network in an international environment.

Stretchable Organic Devices

Research groups on Organic Electronics (Prof. C. Soldano, ELEC) and Multifunctional Materials Design (Prof. J. Vapaavuori, CHEM) at Aalto University are looking for a curious and talented student, either at BSc or MSc level, for the Summer 2020.

Your work will be in the framework of a joint inter-school project funded by Aalto University to create a stretchable organic devices platform. You will work in a cross-disciplinary environment across Chemistry and Physics, and your role will be to develop and characterize materials to be applied in our device platform.

Experimental work will include preparation of polymer substrates, surface characterization and device fabrication.

Our group is international, communication and interaction is in English, thus a good oral and written command is required.

Furthermore, previous work experience in polymer science, materials engineering or organic electronics is considered an advantage.

The Department of Electronics and Nanoengineering (ELE) conducts research and arranges related courses in the field of electromagnetics, micro and nanotechnology, radio engineering, and space technology featuring an international team of over 150 Researchers and Research Assistants. The Department is part of the Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering (Aalto ELEC) with world-class research facilities and instruments.

Materials and interfaces to enhance organic devices performances [ORGANIC]

The Organic Electronics Group is looking for a curious and talented student, BSc or MSc level, for the Summer 2020.

You will contribute to the advance of a novel class of organic devices (organic light emitting transistors); in particular, your role will be to develop thin films, both dielectrics and organics, in order to study and improve device performances. Experimental work will include growth of materials, surface characterization and device fabrication.

Our group is international, communication and interaction is in English, thus a good command is required.
